• Your purpose in using this API: I frequently see or hear hadiths and want to verify them, but have trouble finding them through search engines, or Sunnah.com’s native search.

So, I’m looking to build an app that does the following:

• Determines narrator, grade, and author of a given hadith.
• Uses NLP to summarize, tag, and categorize the content of a Hadith.
• Uses query expansion, and synonym matching to allow users to search for Hadith based on the author, narrator, and content (whether word-for-word, paraphrased, or word-swapped).

• API rate limits:

  • Maximum requests per second: 1
  • Maximum requests per day: 10

• Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access? Given my goal above, I likely will have to maintain my own local database with categorization/tagging, so an offline dump would be perfect.

With that being said, API access would allow me to occasionally (once every 6-12 months) check for any changes to the database.
