Daily Note quote on mobile does the same quote everyday

Describe the bug I use the daily note and on my computer i get a new quote everyday but then when i sync with my phone i keep getting the same quote everyday which then eventually syncs back to my computer.

To Reproduce I use the following code in my daily note:

search *

Expected behavior I expect that my computers daily note is the one that syncs to my phone but even if not then i would expect to at least on my phone to see a different quote everyday.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• Mac OS 13.5
• IOS 16.5.1
• Obsidian version 1.3.7 (Mac OS)
• Obsidian version 1.4.6 (IOS)

What syncing solution do you use (official Sync plugin, Syncthing, one of the community plugins)?

I use the official Obsidian Sync

How many quotes do you have? How many quotes based on the search do you expect to take part in picking?

I have about 15 quotes so far and sure I expect them to show the same once pretty regularly but the weird thing is that the mobile version always showed the same one.

Until this morning :) Today I decided todo it differently normally I always use Obsidian on my Mac first but today I decided to use my phone first and it gave me a different one, ok it is the same one it showed my yesterday on my Mac first (before sync replaced it with the phone one). So I am not sure if I fixed my problem but lets see what happens tomorrow.

OK so today I did what I normally do open Obsidian on my Mac first and then later I open the mobile app.

And again the Mac seems to go well but the mobile app shows the same Quote as yesterday.

So it seems so far that it works fine as long as I use mobile first or at least that is how it went once.

I can try to remember to open mobile first tomorrow if you want to see if it changes my quote on mobile?

It'd be nice. By the way, it's very strange behavior, because plugin is platform-agnostic and should not behave so

Do you sync plugin settings via Obsidian Sync?

OK the latest update from this morning. Used Obsidian on my phone first and it gave the same quote it did on my phone yesterday and the day before (that Saturday one did end up changing to the Friday one from my mac). My mac opened with the same one as my phone which now is also the one it has for yesterday (not the one it was when I closed my mac last night) It all is a bit strange. I will try my normal mac first again for a couple days and see what happens (unless you sugest something else) and will keep you posted.

And yes the options "Core Plugin Settings" is on to sync core plugin settings.

My update for the last two days.

Still doing mac first and Phone later and the last two days it does what it suppose todo. Both my mac and phone have the same quote and a no doubles weird multiple days of the same. I will keep an eye on it and update later this week if it all stays working fine.

OK it was fine for a couple days but yesterday i updated Obsidian to 1.4.5 and mobile 1.4.8.

And today my mac has the same quote as yesterday and my phone got a new one.

It was in good for a couple of days but we are back to strange only now the other way around :) I will keep watching but I am wondering if I should just change the code.....

You can show me samples of your quote blocks and quote listings if you're unsure about them. Just change text to something nonsense if you care.

Just a little update, Mac daily note from yesterday now shows the same one as my mobile did while all day yesterday it wasn't. Today both have different quote (which is fine by me) nothing related to yesterday.

OK one more update.... So my Mac daily note from yesterday has now a different Quote as yesterday and today's quote on my mac has the same one it originally had yesterday (which is the last quote on my list) and my phone it has a new quote today and yesterday's also changed to the one my mac has now too (from yesterday).

Not sure why it changes the code block when I send it I put it in a separate file which i attached so i hope that works

Could it be to few or to many quotes? from my whole list only 5 got ever used it always seems to be the same once....

Can you make a screenshot of output of command "Local Quotes: Open Statistics"? This modal show how many verified quotes exist.

I see. It means that quote listing scanner works as expected on your device. One more question. Does plugin work properly without sync, on just one device? Can you test it on extra vault?

I am not around much today but will try to test it to install it later or tomorrow and then test if for a couple days. I will keep you posted after trying it for a couple days.

I made a new vault just empty with my quotes in one and daily note but it does not seem to work.

Settings seems fine but doesn't work.

I think we just call it a day for now, I kinda stop looking at the daily quotes as they are all the same so I guess that defeats the purpose so I am strongly thinking about stop using it at least for now.
