Keyboard shortcut depends on the keyboard layout

SumatraPDF version

  • Version 3.5.2 x64 Windows

Describe the bug Keyboard shortcut a works only in English keyboard layout.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open any pdf file with text
  2. Switch to another keyboard layout, let it be Russian - Russia
  3. Select some text on a page
  4. Press a key (ф in Russian ЙЦУКЕН layout)

Expected behavior Selected text is highlighted.

Known issue I think this was mentioned in the past so will close as duplicate once that one or two are found

Searched for that, didn't find. Glad it is known, I'm sure it's not so hard to fix. Thank you for developing SumatraPDF!

one issue/discussion https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/issues/4322 was then closed by a fix and still commented as non functional https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/issues/4322#issuecomment-3178322258 so keeping this open for now
