SumatraPDF version

  • Version 3.6.15961

Describe the bug -page 11 not working in windows shortcut "D:\hvac\Energy Kinetics\installer-manual-ek1-ek2-oil_2021.pdf" -page 11

I modified the registry shell open to "C:\Users\Henry\AppData\Local\SumatraPDF\SumatraPDF.exe" "%1" "%2" "%3" which seems to work correctly

Not a SumatraPDF Issue, more a Widows security one Shortcuts generally will not work that way the commands need ideally to be after the exe in a shortcut and before the document
For example "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --enable-features=msEdgeEpubReaderEnabled then the file can be dropped onto the working end Shortcut to exe or bat can have the options

shortcut to document usually is depending on the FTA so nothing after the "blah blah.PDF" or .docX etc. This minimises rogue filename exploitation, (which was common in the past)

there are workarounds but not recommended as potentially fragile. very recent similar topic here https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/discussions/4067

so from command line you can run a shortcut to open page 11in a browser like this https://energykinetics.com/wp-content/documents/system2000/installer-manual-ek1-ek2-oil.pdf#page=11

or in the system run a prefix page 11 "filename.pdf" or reverse that open filename 11 via a CMD image

Or like this image

Should be fixed in 15997 or later (you'll have to install so that new registry entries are written)
