Mac OS text replacement not working

Description of the bug

It seems that Mac OS text completion is not working in Sublime 4126. I hadn't tried this before, but have now started using text replace at the OS level pretty regularly and have noticed it does not work with Sublime. Would be quite helpful if this is fixed (assuming this is a bug... or implemented if not?)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a text replacement string in Mac OS System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Text
  2. Verify that the replacement string works in another Mac application
  3. Open a tab in Sublime Text
  4. Type the replacement string

Expected behavior

Popup with replacement text

Operating system & version

I can confirm this is broken on my machine too. Same build and MacOS version. I'm 80% sure it did work some time ago.

@fluffycat if i understand, this is different from what we're reporting.

In System Settings -> Keyboard -> Text Replacements... - you can set specific keycombinations that result in say a URL or something else, like: Screenshot 2024-05-24 at 9 48 06

these are the ones that don't work in Sublime Text, or on Discord, or on Google Chrome.

it looks like this: text replacement
