some users on the forum also asked that the \n coloring could stop at the ruler / wrap width.

I hope this can be worked on. I slowly grew used to this, but it's honestly the biggest annoyance I have with Sublime Text. I don't recall of any other text editor I've used having this behavior.

It's probably not hard to fix either.

The issue is quite old now, being first reported at Background color extends beyond wrap_width - Technical Support - Sublime Forum on 2012/10. So that's almost 9 years now.
