Allow to restore windows and not only tabs
(FR:Feature Request) Allow sublime to restore also windows not only tabs like FireFox does: History->Open recent closed tabs History->Open recent closed windows
If people have two monitors they run two instances of sublime. After computer reboot it will be nice if sublime restore two windows with all tabs opened there.
Use "File > Exit" to close Sublime Text as opposed to closing windows individually. That will preserve currently opened windows.
Other than that, I suppose this is a valid request, although I haven't found a need for it yet thanks to the quick switch project panel.
Yeah, I close window individually, when I understand that I have lost all opened tabs and have not found 'File->Open recent->windows" I create this ticket =)

It won't help if I have 3-4 opened windows and accidentally closed one of them. It happened to me for some times so I lost that data.
It will be really cool to have this. Most annoing part of using sublime - accidentaly closing window loose all the data in it.
Please add this feature.
This is a major problem for me. Every time sublime text crashes or I have to restart my computer, all 5 of my windows get merged into 1 mega window with up to 20 project tabs at the top. I then have to go through and drag them into the 5 window groups I normally have, its a real pain in the ass and makes me leave sublime open 24/7 and detest restarting my machine for any reason.
@zajako - Agree. This is the single biggest reason that I am seriously considering migrating my workflows to Visual Studio Code.app on macOS. System restarts are insanely frustrating because of this deficiency in Sublime Text.app (version 4).
For the record, I cannot reproduce this behavior. I use multiple windows of ST basically 100% of the time and I have no issues with restoring them in their previous state when either my PC crashed or when I explicitly exited ST (using the aforementioned File > Exit menu item).
I figured it out. A vanilla install of Sublime Text 4 supports recollection of the Merged Windows state. However, it disorders the project level window tabs.
Nevertheless, it turns out that in my case the root cause for the failure to re-open all windows in their merged tabs state was a now long since abandoned Sublime Text package called Material Theme, which I have permanently removed, and for which I will now have to find a replacement.
