When working directory is 'loading changes...' for a long time, it is not obvious to the user why the pull button does nothing.

When I copy and paste a repo on the file system, and first open it, it stays in the "loading changes..." state for a long time (that might be a separate issue to create).

When it is in the 'loading changes...' state, pressing the pull button does nothing. It is not visually very prominent that working directory changes or loading, so it is very easy to become confused in this case as to why the pull button is unresponsive.

It would be nice to provide more prominent feedback to the user as to why the pull action is not working.
