Tor Browser will not work

I have installed Subgraph OS on a Toshiba notebook, and the Tor browser will not work. It will start, but gives me the message "Something Went Wrong! Tor is not working in this browser."

I am a journalist, not a computer person, and I need an operating system which is very, very secure, and which works.

What is going wrong? I thought Tor was the whole point of Subgraph OS.

Is your time set properly in UTC as described in the FAQ?

@jay6x, did you try browsing to a website? You can try to visit the following site to see if you're accessing from a Tor exit node:

https://myip.subgraph.com

Tor Browser won't just access the Internet directly, that error message only means that it can't reach its control port server (could be due to an issue with our sandbox).
