Add Chat panel for document participants
Add a chat panel for the current editors of a documents. Perhaps integrate slack somehow so I don't have to switch back and forth between the editor and Slack.
We’ve always been slightly hesitant for this as the chat won’t be part of the document and persist (its main focus of being a plain text editor should not be washed out). So in the past we recommended using Messages for chat and SubEthaEdit for editing.
A full grown slack integration seems overdose.
However, maybe there is a good concept on how to integrate chat in a meaningful way through the infrastructure SubEthaEdit provides. Lets keep this one open to gather concepts on how exactly this should look like and behave.
Before my mind went off to Slack-land, my initial thought was a chat session that is open only as long as the hosted document is still open. The chat would not need to persist after that. Once the host closes the document, the chat session ends.
