Will PR #1700 be merged into the main branch?

PR #1700 contains updates for the example compiler that would allow TS to run inside of the example playgrounds. Last I've seen is that this PR was merged into the NEXT branch but never merged into the main branch. Is this still the case or have I missed its inclusion in main? And if its still in NEXT what would be the timeline for this feature being merged into main?

No plans for as far as I know, I'm doing some maintenance for this repo but that's it.
