cannot install not verified add-ons in current Firefox version
When I try to install this add-on in Firefox 52.0 according to the readme, I get this error message:
Apparently add-ons need to be signed as described here: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Problems-with-add-ons-plugins-or/Add-on-signing-in-Firefox/ta-p/30262
There is a workaround, but it only works in the developer or nightly versions:
Since Firefox version 48, release and Beta versions of Firefox do not allow unsigned extensions to be installed. However, Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) version 45, as well as the Developer Edition and Nightly versions of Firefox, will allow you to override the setting to enforce the add-on signing requirement by changing the preference xpinstall.signatures.required to false in the Firefox Configuration Editor (about:config page).
Any update on this?
I was able to get this to work by downloading an older version of Firefox.
Nightly and the Developer edition still had compatibility issues, even after config.
You can download the older version of firefox here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1184507
This tool is gold!
It would be great to see it updated for the newest edition of any browser due to possible security risk of using outdated browsers.
