Problem: 1.32: Unable to rebuild exports if program fail to load remote database; 1.52: generate texture problems ingame
Hello, first of all thanks for your magnific tool, i'm costume mod creator and without your tool i'll be unable to extract and repack files, thanks a loot.
Well, i'm writing cuz the program is being unable to load the database, it started today, the problem with that is that if the program is unable to load the database then the option to rebuild selected exports stay unabled, you should change that on a future release to be able to repack without the need of a loaded database, thanks.
EDIT: Sorry, i'm using version 1.32, didn't seen the 1.52 on main page, on releases only appear up to 1.32, and yeah, it works offline, HOWEVER, that version have a big problem, idk if it recompress textures when rebuilding or change something on some other upk data but the textures get rendered in a very strange way, please look this video https://youtu.be/zsAx2eM8qbI and pay attention to the hips area, look how some polygons get dark while the model rotate, this happens in a worse way when you're on open map and zoom out the camera, this doesn't happen with textures repacked with v1.32
EDIT 2: another example now playing with camera, look how too bad is the problem, https://youtu.be/9FMxARPREQ0 , to be clear i've tried with different options on "Settings>texture quality", even unchecking all "compressor type" and "Error Metric"options, same odd result always
EDIT 3: as you stated on 1.4 notes:
"The rebuild package process has several changes:
- Now uses the same DDS format that was in the original UPK file. This reverses the change made in v1.3.2.
- Now uses the same minimum mip map size as the unmodified UPK files do which might help with texture streaming crashes.
- Some specular textures have a missing first mip map and a listed size four times larger than the actual first texture size. This pattern is now maintained which might help with texture streaming crashes. "
I suppose that the graphic problem is related to this and comes additionally with other limitation, this won't let to create loseless textures, these loseless textures looks really nice and are compatible with the game (without crashes) as long as you use a 3rd party launcher like buddy with "no texture streaming" active.

just make a new issue ticket. this is what striq does. he sweeps things under the rug. always has always will.
Just released v1.6.0 which should solve all the database issues. I will work on the graphics issues next.
