Images do not sync cross-platform

Anytime I paste or embed and image into a new note, it will display in that note ONLY on the platform I used to initially upload it. But it will not display on other platforms/devices.

For example, if I take a screenshot and add it to a note via the web app, then sync, if I pull up the note on my phone the image does not display--only a blank placeholder. This is incredibly frustrating, as I frequently need to access images from notes from multiple platforms.
