Editor is buggy

Open BarbzYHOOL opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

Hello,

I'm on Linux Mint 20 (based on ubuntu 20.04)

In the editor:

  1. when I press a number it doesn't work, no matter if Numlock is on or off. Several actions are therefore impossible and cannot write a number in the file name from the editor
  2. if I press F9 to test the level, it brings a black screen with the mouse, the only way to get out is ctrl+alt+del. So the only way to test is to quit and then run the level in the terminal :'( very annoying

Plz fix it

I made some levels that I can share too!

Hello, I just tested berusky package which is shipped on Fedora (tested Fedora 37) and it works as expected. BTW. You can also use 'Tab' to switch bugs. Also Editor works (run from main menu) with F9 key...

Which version do you run? Fedora contains berusky-1.7.1 (the same as here on github) without any extra patches, just some packaging stuff.

Ahh, I see you mean number keys in editor, right? I don't think you need that, it's just for some tweaks/layer selection. All items are plased directly to correct layer automatically, i.e. floor/items/players are placed to theirs layer and you don't need to switch that.

  1. I think it's the latest version I'm running (not on the current PC) from the Ubuntu 20.04 repos. I don't remember being able to run the editor from the menu, I think it did just nothing, but I'm not sure.

  2. Yes in the editor. Well, I cannot give the level a name with a number, which is a small bug in itself. Also I thought that using the number pad shortcuts, I could improve my speed/productivity to create the levels faster.

  3. The F9 button doesn't work at all, I'm forced to switch out, run a different command in the shell to test it, pretty annoying :(

  4. My mother finished Berusky 3 times already. I created 2 levels for her, I can send them to you if you want, one is easy, the other is intermediate level with a trap (which she fell into, hehe).

Cool, I'm happy for new levels. I'm going to create new room made from user levels and I'm also going to create plane with "child" levels, more mazes than logic issues.

Looks like the game is not properly configured on Ubuntu - editor/game paths may be wrong so game/editor doesn't match. You may adjust path to game binary in ~/.berusky/berusky.init file.

I tested the num keys. Regular numeric keys (the upper line on regular keyboard) works for me but num pad doesn't work. Perhaps SDK has different keycodes for them.

Ok, for the levels, you tell me, I'll send them (I have to transfer them first or if there is an email to send them to)

For the editor, you saw the bug for the num keys, ok. But for F9? I'll check the berusky.init file (when I think about it, it may take several days) but I think I already looked at it randomly.
