Not Working in Chrome on iPad

Open EvanHerman opened this issue 10 years ago • 2 comments

Hi There,

Thanks for the great plugin. We've been putting it to use on our most recent sites.

As the title states, this plugin doesn't currently work in Chrome on the iPad. If you comment out jQuery("img[usemap]").rwdImageMaps(); the click functionality works again, but the click areas are larger than the image (the image scales down, but the overlay hot spots do not).

It seems the js plugin (function) doesn't get initialized in Chrome the same as it does in other browsers.

I can deal with this for now, as most people just use Safari on the iPad. But in future this may be an issue that arises for others.

If you have an iPad with chrome installed you can see what I mean here. You can also view the page on an iphone/desktop and see it functioning.

Thanks again! Evan

p.s I am using an iPad mini with the latest version of Chrome installed from the app store.

I echo Evan's statements. It's a great plugin. Wonderfully done. I recently used it for a client's website, and discovered today that it doesn't work on Chrome for iOS.

I found the issue with this plugin and created updated version because I rely on this heavily to work across all devices. Enjoy - http://theappproducer.com/jmap/#how
