Continue of this tutorial
Hi,
apart from your time and this being a side project for you... Is there any chance of continuing this project?
As far as I can see, it is one of the best or even the best written tutorial for building up a RTS game in unity.
You're coding is very well and the tutorial is (except from little changes in the unity framework with version 5.x) fully functional. I enjoy reading this tutorial very much and would be very pleased, if you find some time to continue this well done job.
Best wishes
Unfortunately there are no plans to do so at the moment. I am in the middle of planning a Kickstarter for a board game I have produced, which leaves little free time outside of work to even consider working on this. If I do come back to this it is unlikely to be for years. Thank you for your appreciation for what has been written though.
A boardgame, really?
Then are you on the Essen fair (SPIEL'17, Germany) this year for presenting it? Perhaps we can talk a bit about your game, because I'm owning a boardgame publishing company. Perhaps I do like your idea for a game... ;-) Feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Best wishes
Unfortunately I am in New Zealand, and so EssenSpiel is a little far to go.
That is really far away, I see. Given that you succeed your crowdfunding campaign, how do you plan to publish the game? NZ is not that big market, so i presume you've had a US publisher at hand. Any connections to Europe?
I am still in the planning stages around that. The plan at this stage is initially to do well enough on Kickstarter to be able to manufacture the minimum print run required by a printer in China. With most of that being sent to backers of the Kickstarter. At this stage I have no clear plans for any stock I would have left over.
This github (and this project) looks a bit abandoned.
Yet I wanted to express my gratitude for such a well written tutorial. Even though I'm only at part4 right now, I have never before seen such a well explained and detailed tutorial. There must have gotten a lot of work into making it. Thanks. I'm really enjoying, and benefiting from, going through it.
Cheers
