🚀 Feature: Allow setting a name and icon for OIDC login

Open acidRain-burns opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

🔖 Feature description

Allow the OIDC configuration to set a custom name and icon. This would be displayed in the Sign-In button in place of the current "OpenID" and OpenID logo if set.

🎤 Pitch

This increases trust with the user who may not be aware of OIDC, but does know the identity provider. This also makes on-boarding new users more easily when they have seen the identity provider before, and don't need to be told to select the "OIDC" option, and that they can have the expectation that this will make them a new account instead of needing to register for one first.

Would love to see this in Pingvin! I agree that many users will have no idea what "OIDC" or "SSO" means and typical practice is to show something referring to the OIDC service instead.
