[Suggestion] An option to always open "Deletes History Temporary Containers" when navigating in "Deletes History Temporary Containers" tabs
- Temporary Containers Version: 1.8
- Firefox Version: 79.0b2
Actual behavior
Currently, with Delete History enabled and Isolation
- Global
- Navigation
- Target Domain
set to Different from Tab Domain & Subdomains
, within a "Deletes History Temporary Container" tab, opening another domain from address bar will open a normal temporary container.
If Delete History
- Isolation - Navigating in tabs
is set to Open new "Deletes History Temporary Containers" when "Navigating in tabs Isolation" takes place instead of normal Temporary Containers
instead of Default
, opening another domain will switch to a "Deletes History Temporary Container", but this happens even if the original tab is a normal one.
Expected behavior
A new option: Open new "Deletes History Temporary Containers" when navigating in "Deletes History Temporary Containers"
When opening another domain from address bar, if the original tab is in "Deletes History Temporary Container", open a new "Deletes History Temporary Container", but if the original tab is normal, still open a new normal temporary container.
This is basically similar to Isolation - Mouse clicks in "Deletes History Temporary Containers"
but for address bar instead of mouse clicks.
Right, that'd make sense. Also a candidate for #397
Adding on to this, if I'm browsing within a Delete History Container and Cmd+Click on a link, the link doesn't open in a Delete History Container, which is what most people would expect. Can we make this happen as well? Currently the link opens in a default Temp Container.
Interesting, so the "Isolation - Mouse clicks in "Deletes History Temporary Containers"" preference seems to be broken as well, meh.
