GPS now only in Imperial Units and Width/Offset Increments Missing
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Since updating to the latest version of Guidance Steering with the new UI and other improvements, it is noted that the unit of measurement in the GUI only offers imperial units. This means for players playing in Metric used to Metres that now being shown measurements in Feet within the Guidance Steering UI is very confusing when they are trying to determine their operating widths or offsets as the other screens in game, garage menu etc show the player widths in metres.
Also in the latest version of Guidance Steering the ability to move the width increments seems to have changed to be less useful, in that the options given to the player now are very random, and not as clear and concise as the previous version's ability to adjust a width or offset either positive or negative by round values like 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1. Couple this with the above issue of only having imperial measurements and it makes it even more difficult for players now to set the exact widths or offsets they want to nice round and simple values.
Also a little bit weird in the latest version of Guidance Steering is that when using the auto-width option, it sets an offset too, even though for the most part the tools/vehicles being used don't have an offset. So after making any width changes, players must remember to also reset the offset, otherwise Guidance Steering sets the wrong tracks and applies an offset where there is none.
Describe the solution you'd like Maybe look at providing an option for players to toggle the unit of measurement used and displayed in the Guidance Steering Mod and UI so they can set it to whatever their preference is and what they have their main game set to use.
As for the width/offset increment adjustment, re-implement the older values to make it easier for players to adjust their courses to the values they want.
Describe alternatives you've considered Another option for the Width and Offset could be to remove the increment completely, and just let players freely type into the box what width or offset distance they would like to use.
You're running the game on the imperial unit.. change it in the settings and it will shown in metric.
I am removing the imperial stuff since all the widths ingame are shown in meters too.. it actually is confusing to mix those in.
Ah okay, I see the problem, it's because Giants don't think separating Speed from Distance in the options means an English player like me is forced to keep the Distance Measurement Units on Miles in the options so that speed is correctly shown as MPH in the game. You are correct if I change that to Kilometres then the Guidance Steering Menu now displays correctly in metres, but now of course all my vehicle and tool speeds are alien to me.
Yeah will look at how to balance it a bit more.. the incremental parts shouldn't be converted thats my bad.
The offset on the auto width is caused when you don't straighten your vehicle, when the tool is on an angle it will detect it as an offset.
But should an offset get applied to a vehicle like the Krone Mower in my screenshot above, or a Harvester or a Self Drive Sprayer? I can understand an offset getting applied if your towing a seeder, cultivator, plough etc behind a tractor and aren't exactly in a straight line when applying width adjustments. However on the Mower or a Harvester how can that happen, as the tools are always lined up wherever the vehicle is pointing?
Why is this closed? No direct respond doesn't mean it will not be worked on.
Wopster. Any progress on this to keep in metres for us who use miles?
