Troubleshooting Install OLED

Open Pocketmodster opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

I finished installing my OLED chip and updated to 0.23 firmware. My console flashes purple for like 20 seconds than turns red and then off. How can I resolve this issue!? Thank you!

your dat0 connection is not good or there is something not right with the installation, like bad caps soldering on the cpu.. etc

Hi, I installed succesfully the oled modchip, it work fine but if I put some pressure on bottom of the consolle during the glitch proces, it doesn't work. After some investigations I found that problably the problem come from the connector of the cpu flat cable on the oled modchip side, more than the flat it self, but anyway do you have some advice to try to mitigate the problem if it came from the connector? Is it possible to wire directly the cpu point to the oled modchip without the flat? do you have a schematic please? Really thanks.

Most of the time, it is the cpu cover shorting to some components on the board . It is because you didn't cut or fold the latches neatly. So please check it out.

Also make sure to put thermal tape Kapton on the metal shielding because if you apply enough pressure and it touches the chip while powered on you could burn your switch. Also make sure the lengths of your wires are as long as needed don’t leave extra slack because you could be applying to much pressure on it and damage the connection.
