Create release 0.2.0

Open arporter opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

I've created a draft for the new release. You can see it under 'Releases'. Since there are some relatively significant additions this is a bump to the minor version:

  • Optional support for code behind OMP sentinels (!$ ...)
  • Support for non-standard STOP statements

Is there anything else people would like considered for the next release (@TeranIvy @sergisiso @reuterbal)?

Looking forward to this and thanks for checking!

I don't think we have anything urgent right now, but since you're asking:

  • #308 is something that I keep hitting in IFS. It can be fixed quite trivially in source by separating the statements, but it might also not be terribly hard to sort out in fparser. Not sure when I'll find time for this, though
  • #384 is something that we continue to manage to work around but it would probably clean up a few hacks on our end if @sergisiso 's suggestion in #449 made it into the release

All fine from LFRic side, I think.

All good from my point of view.

Thanks everyone. @reuterbal Sergi and I discussed #449 and are a bit worried that it might break a lot of things in PSyclone (and we urgently need to make a PSyclone release). Therefore, we've agreed that although we're keen to have it, we'll do it after this release rather than before.

If everyone is happy I shall shortly (probably 26/11) make the draft 0.2.0 release (see https://github.com/stfc/fparser/releases) a reality.

Many thanks @arporter! That's perfectly fine.

0.2.0 went out quite a long time ago so this can be closed.
