Is this another dead library? No updates in ages. Still advised to use it or not?

Nobody is stopping you from forking it and continuing development if you like it so much?

The library seems abandoned, but other projects take its code and improve it. For example, Matrix client Element: https://grep.app/search?q=stfalcon&filter[repo][0]=vector-im/element-android
