Change bubble Color on certain criteria

Is there a way to customize the bubble based on different criteria.

I have a chat between two people and one user send a rewarding text that contains the tag reward: I want to have that bubble to change to a red color. I get that you can change the incoming and outgoing in the MessagesListAdapter but how about in the DemoMainActivity class.
