Audio quality degraded

Open tormyvancool opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

I need to use the High Quality Audio (Studio) When just a bit of trafic even on local network occurs, the quality degrades remarkably. From several drop-outs to the quality of an MP3 at 64 kbps. Which I expect from standard settings and not from studio settings

hi!

Are you using wifi by chance?

Perhaps try setting the audio bitrate to &audiobitrate=96 instead of the 256 that is set with &proaudio

over local ethernet, you shouldn't have any packet loss.

Hi @steveseguin yes, I'm emulating the classical configuration for which a Client operates. Sending to her HQ Audio, she should receive it without degrading even if she' behind Wi-Fi, as it occurs with Zoom. OBS.ninjam can be, at that point, the best tool ever for this purpose, because doesn't require any installation of packages. Really the best ever. That's why I'm highlighting this issue to your attention

Do you have a sample of the audio quality you might be able to share?

Obs.ninja uses udp based packets to send data. This allows for very low latency if transmissions but it suffers when there is heavy packet loss.

Using 4G LTE instead of wifi is recommended if packet loss is an issue. You can try to use apps like speedify in redundant bonding mode to also help.

On the viewers side, you can try adding url params like &enhance&buffer=500&ab=80&noap to try to improve quality a bit more. Also try to use Chrome rather than OBS, to see if it works better.

I don't use OBS at all in this process. I get out from the DAW directly, and I reach OBS.ninja The browser is Chrome.
