Issue with KICK Sign-In

Open Hail4Gaming opened this issue 5 months ago • 3 comments

I have noticed an issue when trying to sign-in with Kick. I can in a normal incognito window with Chrome, and everything works fine. I have 2FA enabled and I am wondering if that is the issue. When I type my username and password in, and click sign-in, it stalls for a few then says "Unknown error occurred. Try again later" I do not know if this is on their end or the app itself, but I cannot sign-in to send messages on Kick using the software. I am new to it and just started using it today. I still have to test YouTube, but Twitch seems to be working fine.

Basically, I can add Kick Username, and it pops out correctly when I activate it, but when I try to sign-in I get an "Unknown Error" and it stops me from signing in. I use 2FA and it never even asks for my 2FA code (it doesn't get to that point), so I was wondering if that might be an issue.

Sincerely, Hail4Gaming

@Hail4Gaming

Can you confirm if you are using macOS with the standalone app or Windows/Linux?

Ah yes, sorry about that. Windows 11 standalone app currently. Tried adding it as an "Other Link" as well, but it still wouldn't let me sign in. I installed as an individual user as well, instead of for all users. I don't see why that would make any difference, I also didn't try running as admin for the same reason.

I've released a new test version of the app, however it might still have issues with kick sign in when using 2FA/passcodes.

This version doesn't try to fix 2FA issues, however this version does try to address being blocked by certain websites. Perhaps it will solve your issue?
