I recently updated to macOS 26.1 and haven't encountered any crashes yet. Could you please confirm if the crash occurs when you start the app or after it is already running?
The log indicates it relates to AppleScript, so if you have any scripts using the AltTab mod, that might be contributing to the issue.

thank you for looking into it. The issue is happening when I open the app, or when it starts after login.
I have no apple script. I want to mention also that the registering permissions for AltTab and DockAltTab are not working on my side sometimes giving me headache until I fix them properly, but that's another thing.
When DockAltTab starts, I can see the Finder icon going dimmed and then goes back to normal state.
For the moment, this are all the info that I have.

I've just remembered something: Before setting up the required permissions for the application, it was starting normally - I was able to see the application window asking for permissions.
Then the crash came in.
I don't get how is related with AppKit and maybe the notification coming from it. I don't remember the DockAltTab sending any notification and I am using it for about 3.5 years now.
Anyway, if the log says like that, maybe there is a relation. Sorry that I've overseen that.
I will try to remove permissions and reinstall the app, late this evening. Even I have already done it few times before opening the issue. Maybe something got stuck somewhere and I didn't see it.

Grant Accessibility & Screen Recording, then restart. That should be it (since you already allowed System Events).
Try resetting the app's preferences via terminal (I'm thinking it could be the sparkle updater instead).

Without any permission, the app started but there is no window (strange) this happened few times, but in the end I have redone the permissions reset and it appeared.
After applying the permissions the app started fine, but once I enable the System Events, the app goes puff!...

Unfortunately I have eliminated all the options to get it working.
Your suggestions, my ideas... Uninstall, reboots, setting it up again and again, and I end up in the same situation.

experiencing the same problem..cant get any of the neweer post 2.91 versions of dockAlttab to run...tried everything. However i am able to get v2.9 to run and it works. Busy ATM but wanted to et anyone know that if you are like me and need something at least to work try 2.9 and you should be fine. Interesting thing I noticed when installing/setting up permissions on 2.9 vs all the other newer versions, was that different dialog screen(s) asking for permissions were different and didnt show up on any of the newer versions. So that something that struck me and is something to look at and is probably a lead to where the problem is, Busy ATM ill take a look later but wanted to post this in hopes it could help at least someone else or maybe even lead to solution. that was just released rather recently.
Had no problems on 26.1 or the versions before this latest update

unfortunately, I have same behavior with 2.9 too. I suspect this
to be the cause.
I have done these:
tccutil reset All com.steventheworker.alt-tab-macos
tccutil reset All com.steventheworker.DockAltTab
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/AltTab.app
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/DockAltTab.app
and as previous, after setting all the permissions for those apps, the DockAltTab starts and remains in active until I set something in that popup. It doesn't matter the selection, it does the same.
