As a product designer at Teaching.com, you will help make learning accessible to our growing community of more than 20 million students and teachers around the world. We are a lean, rapidly growing company that’s nimble like a startup, but established enough to skip the jitters and all nighters. As we continue to expand our product line, we’re looking for an all-around all-star Product Designer with strong skills in user interface design and front end development.
We’re a small team that values individual responsibility over imposed hierarchy. You’ll be required to manage your relationships with the founder, design director and developers as you take your early ideas, wireframes and prototypes and build them into fully functioning solutions in a timely fashion. Product designers are responsible for understanding project needs, providing expert direction and suggestion, executing tasks, managing expectations and timelines, and delivering expertly-crafted solutions. You will work collaboratively with our team to directly improve the learning experience for our end users: students and teachers.
We’re seeking a candidate with strong attention to detail and a proven track record of solving hard problems with simple and elegant solutions. We’re looking for someone who wants to join a growing team, and has the interest/capacity to lead other designers and front-end developers. You will have excellent communication skills, and be prepared to advocate for your work while balancing and incorporating feedback from colleagues and product users.
This is a remotely-based position.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio, specifically including product UI/UX design
- A strong understanding of and capacity to write HTML/CSS from scratch
- Passionate about education
