Slow ledger download

Hi @nullstyle We spoke at yesterday's meetup about slow ledger downloads and lots of error msgs.

Things are going much smoother today--fewer Timeout messages--but its still pretty slow so I thought I'd post what I was seeing. At this rate, I think it will take approx 3 days or so for me to completely sync the entire ledger.

Update:

This seems to happen on and off for me. For a few days, it will look like the above, and I wont be catching up on past transactions on the ledger.

Then all of the sudden everything catches up and things are smooth.

As a note: Jed is currently working on some issues that should speed up ledger syncs as well
