So I looked again in Lubuntu with LXQt 0.17 and the showdesktop shortkey works fine with xfwm4 but not with openbox, neither the LXQt one neither the one from openbox,...
This is what I saw too - panel doesn't show up with openbox, but does with xfwm4. If you change to Alt+d in globalkeys? Will it at least work to...
Afaik every WM (at least among the main 3 used) has a shortcut for this, and in fact as I don't want and need a button on the panel for...
For the runner this is clear (one could even say it should start when invoked by shortcut), but the connection between the panel plugin and the show-desktop shortcut isn't tthat...
It was me who created "compact" and "single" menu. My idea was to move "About" out of the way (on top for a bottom panel) as this entry is used...
I didn't think of inverting all, just about "search" and maybe "leave" on top. PS: for some reason I saw this PR only today.

I don't think so. The text in the setting and what user expect isn't what happens when using kwin. But there's maybe no solution.
