Hue White Ambiance Bulb can't be adjusted manually after sunset

I have one Hue White Ambiance bulb, when trying to adjust it to a lower brightness setting one night I learned that Kelvin would instantly change it back to what Kelvin thought it should be at.

So the next day, during the day, I tried to reproduce the issue and it did not reproduce. That evening it happened again though. So I suspect the issue is specific to the after sunset schedule.

I turned on debug logging and I can see that Kelvin seems to think it needs to be constantly adjusting this bulb. No other bulbs show up in the logs in this way.

Hey Nick,

that light seems to be stuck in the initialization phase:

When you turn a light Kelvin will try to initialize it. Depending on the network conditions (WiFi and Zigbee) this can take some time so it will try at least for 10 seconds. If the light doesn't pick up the initial setting, Kelvin currently will keep trying forever. This is what seems to have happened here.

Did you change the light in the first 10 seconds after turning it on?

@stefanwichmann probably, we usually use an echo to turn on the light and give it brightness number. I'll toy around with turning on the light vs turning it on with a brightness number and see if that changes anything.

Just released Kelvin 1.3.1

With this release the initialization phase is reduced to three seconds and it contains additional log information in this period.

Kelvin should auto update itself within 12 hours. Let me know if this helps you tracking down the issue!

@stefanwichmann I'm actually seeing this on my hue color bulbs now. I tried to use the hue app to change the color and within a second or so kelvin just changes it back.

I'll have to turn debug logging back on to see if it shows the same behavior as above.

I'm also seeing that even when I'm not doing anything the lights seem to flicker to a whitish color for a brief moment and then come back to red when they are already at the lowest setting. I think I've seen this behavior in past versions as well but I thought it was just an anamoly. Now that the lights are red at night the quick change is much more noticeable.
