Implementation of a classical menu

Hey! Just discovered BowPad today and so far it is surprisingly good.

What I like so far:

  • small size on disk
  • portable
  • fast
  • free
  • open source
  • small RAM usage
  • dark mode colors of the UI and also the colors in the syntax highlighting. I like the nice contrast
  • the control of the multi cursor with the keyboard, it is very easy, like in Notepad++
  • the design of the status bar is very functional

What I do not like is the ribbon menu. I use my editors in a small window, smaller than the width of that big menu, and the ribbon is always hiding something I need. Not at all practical. I know it is one of the notable features of BowPad, but for me it is a big no no. There are also other visual problems of the Windows ribbon framework, like https://github.com/stefankueng/BowPad/issues/345 and https://github.com/stefankueng/BowPad/issues/84.

Please implement classical menus for the rest of us and let the user decide what to use. If I remember correctly, UltraEdit has this.

I also made a poll for people to vote: https://github.com/stefankueng/BowPad/discussions/408

This is what the width of the text looks, compared to the width of the ribbon menu. The waste of space at the right of the text would not happen with a classical menu, which is much more space optimized. So the window cold be less wide, but still show all the menus.
