Copy/Paste doesn't work while extensions are loading

With this extension installed, copy and paste does not work immediately after opening VSCode.

Relatively frequently, I'll open a file to copy something out of it, or open an empty VSCode window to paste and format something (eg. JSON). However, I need to wait a few seconds while the extension is loading. I understand that the load time of this extension will be affected by the other extensions, but removing them is obviously not a solution. It would be nicer the default copy/paste commands were still available while multiclip is still loading.
