METAL without EFFECT column

Open meghatron21 opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Hi.

I want to perform a meta-analysis across 5 studies; however, they might have underlying biological differences and thus different effect sizes; but I just want to evaluate if variants have any effect on treatment response across these 5 studies. Is there a way to run METAL without the EFFECT column and only P-values?

Thanks!

You'll need to use the sample size weighted meta-analysis SCHEME SAMPLESIZE, and specify WEIGHT (sample size column) and PVALUE (p-value column).

The documentation has more information on the analysis methods available, and the quick start has an example usage of the sample size method.
