[Feature] Adding crop & pan video filters

Open neru2132 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. In the filters tab it is currently not possible to hide black bars to either side of the video without cutting off part of the image. Black borders were relatively common in DVDs but usually hidden from the viewer during playback by a fit to content function on the DVD player or TV set.

Describe the solution you'd like

  • Options for X- and Y-pan that allow to move the video barely out of view in all four directions
  • Pixel based cropping option on all four sides of the video

Describe alternatives you've considered In some instances a combination of the Scale and Aspect filters can already be used to achieve the desired results but usually only when the targeted transformation is symmetrical.

Additional context X- and Y-pan in conjunction with the existing Scale filter could be used as a zoom function. To this end, it might be nice to allow the Scale filter to move past 200%.

There's an extension that does exactly what you want. Actually there might be more, but try Ultrawidify.

There is a video-js plugin for this https://github.com/theonlyducks/videojs-zoom but it duplicates many features of the exisitng filters, so would probably need a complete overhaul.
