VERY EDITED VERSION Please add the STASH BUTTON to ~SCENES~, PERFORMERS, GROUPS, STUDIOS, ~IMAGES~, ~GALLERYS~, TAGS

EDITED VERSION The identity of the program 'Stash' is connected to a) the storage and organisation of adult content b) the logo/icon which in-app is used to mark something as 'organised' (the STASH BUTTON)

As this concept of organising is essential to how the app is used and developed, I propose all the 'metadata types' (WP's words): (SCENES,PERFORMERS,GROUPS,STUDIOS,IMAGES,GALLERYS,TAGS) should include a STASH BUTTON to mark them as organised at the user's discretion. I have excluded MARKERS as not fitting in with the rest of the datatypes in their design/development although I am not against the idea of extending the functionality there.

Many use STASH-DB or similar to mark a SCENE as organised - it is scraped against a verifiable source (works for some of these metadata types) but other users may have their own uses, e.g. connecting a metadata type with a specific favourite image or other related data. Both groups of users should be accommodated for ideally as there are multiple ways that users could conceptually 'mark something as organised' across all the types of objects they want to organise.

There is an immediate disparity that we can not mark as organised PERFORMERS despite marking SCENES because both can be similarly verified in STASH-DB (which I think is why it is commonly requested, and why movies aren't) GROUPS/MOVIES are planned to include the STASH BUTTON according to WP's comment below, despite the greater customisation that groups offer now from their initial conception as movies (which could be verified against e.g. IAFD) STUDIOS and TAGS should also have the functionality to mark as organised at the users discretion, extending on this concept of user choice and customisation. IMAGES and GALLERYS have this functionality already.

Adding the STASH BUTTON to all 'metadata types' will significantly increase the parity between these different objects/cards used in STASH and will improve addons and future UI and UX work by unifying the different metadata types better. The whole stashing/organising workflow idea is tightly connected to the concept of the software (that's the whole big picture / macro view as I have tried to explain poorly below) - however a user chooses to organise/stash/fav their collection should be supported.

SIDENOTE I would similarly argue that all these metadata types should share the option to be marked as favourite, something that is entirely determined by the users tastes. If I do a similar check list as above: Please add the FAV BUTTON to SCENES, ~PERFORMERS~, GROUPS, ~STUDIOS~, IMAGES, GALLERYS, ~TAGS~ it pretty much makes no sense, and I know it's just what contributors have chosen to add, but it's weird there's no overlap now between what you can mark as fav or mark as organised. The developers would seem to be implying a divide between what can objectively be organised and subjectively be fav'd? Is it not possible to love a scene as you love an adult or ... studio? Of course there's no real purposefulness to all this disparity to my understanding, but the lack of parity between the 'metadata types' leads to this kind of confusion. Maybe it triggers my OCD. Having these options work across all the metadata types would in my mind significantly better the app's cohesion and quality as a complete product. Thanks!

ORIGINAL VERSION (left for historical reasons only)

I could have written an essay here, but I’ll save you all the effort and be as brief as I can.

I love Stash. Stash uses as a logo the open box icon which is used in app to mark a scene, image or gallery as organised. My enjoyment from the software is throwing a big unorganised pile of stuff at it and through using the app and its namesake database StashDB going through either an automated or manual process of transforming my Stash into Stashed (the logo box is closed, that scene/image card is complete)

This core process is, I think, at the heart of the program conceptually. It is therefore a huge missing feature that we can not find that logo button / mark as organised for the other cards in the program. I refer to performers, movies, studios and tags.

I started work on a theme where the organised flag is represented by modifying the scene card border. It looks cool! I would like to use it on the other cards, but right now I’d have to cheat a bit and use something like the new favourite tag to have an accessible Boolean value on a performer card etc. I already know which performers are favs due to their rating! This is a niche use example but it did get me thinking of the app conceptually and I think it’s a real missing function in parts of the program.

I saw the movie/group rework and think they sound very much like something that would benefit from having the organised property, whether users have collected all a movies scenes or all the movies in a series or any other sort of playlist thing. So maybe now it's a great time to have the Stash Icon on all those editable cards! I saw @WithoutPants just adding tags to movies so thought maybe he could add this other thing while he's at it?

I think that the Stash Icon would fit just fine next to the heart icon you see next to the names of tags, studios and performers when selecting them, and wherever it fits with the new group rework of movies I'm sure would also be cool (Maybe groups would also need their own heart icon)

By the way, you should have named groups Stashlets instead. Or Stashes? No, just a thought...

Anyway, I figured this must have been mentioned loads before, and it has! But they referred specifically to adding it to performers or adding it to movies, while I'm talking of adding it to all editable cards. "If it's Editable, then it's Stashable!" - new company slogan?

Would be pretty cool to close those 3 mouldy open issues from 2021 along with this fresh faced one by adding this sort of fundamental feature as soon as possible! Thanks!

Added Edit above. My original comment was a huge failure with 0 likes. The response from @WithoutPants is here: https://discord.com/channels/559159668438728723/559159668912553989/1252039629927088158 "Organised flag for Movies should definitely be added to be consistent with the other media types" "I'm not yet convinced of the case for an organised flag on the other "metadata" types."

I hope that the above edit helps explain myself better but I'm very bad at communicating and apologise to those who would like this feature who could explain it better.

I'm also looking forward to this feature, for example I don't understand why galleries can have the Organized flag while films can't have it. Same for Studios and Performers
