[Feature] Performer studio stats only toggle option on studio performer tab
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When navigating to the performer's tab on a studio page the performer's total library counts are displayed for scenes, images, galleries, etc. Also when sorting, such as by scene count, it is done based on the library totals. What if there were an option, via a toggle, to display and sort based on studio totals only.
The use case for this will vary by user. For me I would find it useful when determing who the most popular performer's are for a particular studio if I need to sleuth performers when I'm resolving a scene's missing performers.
Describe the solution you'd like A toggle option nested within the overflow menu button...
Not quite sure about the exact phrasing, but you get the gist.
Describe alternatives you've considered Rather than using the overflow button drop down menu, having a dedicated toggle button. While this would give a clear indicator that the "studio stats only" filter is activated, it would also add more clutter to the toolbar menu.
Additional context To indicate that the page is filtering by "studio stats only" we could add an indicator
Edit: Also implement a global toggle setting that lets the user make this behavior the default view for studio pages. Settings -> Interface -> Performer cards -> [toggle switch] Display studio totals only on studio pages
How about including both the total and filtered number? I find the fraction itself an interesting piece of data and it's fewer things to click.
It would make the popovers incredibly cramped. I don't know if flowing them on to two rows would be acceptable.
Someone could easily argue that is it convenient to see both, and I'd agree.
But if you filter to see studio totals, seeing library totals is unnecessary. Also as you have identified, it causes more bloat on the UI (desktop and mobile). The UI imo should be clear and focused, with minimal amounts of excessive data cramped into a small area. It starts to make the presentation confusing and lacks visual hierarchy. Multiply all those popover ratios by every other card on the page and its going to be chaotic when the point is just to see the studio totals.
This is also an issue on the new "Appears With" tab on the performer page. It shows the related performer's total scene/gallery counts, when it should be exclusively the ones they appear together in.
I wouldn't mind either a dropdown or a dedicated toggle option, but if it is a dropdown option I don't think having an indicator in the filter criterion area is the best place to put it. The performer toolbar menu has less items in it at the moment than the scenes, galleries and images menus, since we can't currently change the zoom level of performer images. In other words, I don't think having a dedicated option would cause too much clutter.
I agree with not seeing both the total and filtered counts, that would then be too cluttered.
I would also suggest "Display filtered counts" or just "Filter counts" as alternative names for the option, a bit more intuitive in my opinion, and it would also work outside of the studio page.
I'm commenting here instead of in #3880 because I'm not sold on the design proposed here, and this is the better place to discuss it.

I think the counts on these tabs should be filtered always. I think that's the expectation for a typical user.

I don't think we need a toggle for this.

I think doing this from the applicable studio page would be the more intuitive place to do this, assuming we change the count behaviour there. I don't think it's intuitive (or expected) to do this on the main performers query page.
If the counts are correctly filtered in the sub-pages, I don't think it'll be necessary to add a toggle button in.
As a first iteration, I think we should try the above first. If there's still a user demand for a toggle button, then we can add it as a second PR, but I'm skeptical that it'll be necessary.

It's currently possible to build an identical studio filter in the root performer page to the studio sub-page and the cards behave differently - the studio sub-page will generate the filtered links. As far as I know nobody has ever raised this an issue so I think users accept different behaviour in the sub-pages.
If there's no toggle I feel there could be some sort of visual indicator, as simple as a colour change, to indicate that these counts and buttons are different and behave differently to other performer cards.

@WithoutPants I could not agree with you more. You nailed it. Very simple solution. The only reason I did not propose this also is I thought it might be considered too radical from the incumbent behavior.

Also agree in light of the above.
This topic would also be applicable to the appears with tab nav-item. See https://discord.com/channels/559159668438728723/559399634318131210/1236077798418808933
