Hey, found this via Motherboard. Love the idea! Love it so much that I'd already started working on the same thing.... https://github.com/johnsaigle/forget-me-facebook

Our vision is toward forgetting more than poisoning; over a period of months content older than $some_date would be deleted and you'd be able to select what types of content you want deleted (e.g. Keep photos but remove tags and event attendance).

Your idea and ours are similar enough that I feel like they should maybe be combined. Perhaps two modes of the same application, like a --poison flag and a --forget flag.

What do you think?

I love this idea! My plans are to add the following additional abilities

  • Mas "un-like" previous likes
  • Create logged in session then visit 1000s of 3rd party websites with the logged in facebook session to poison the browser history monitoring facebook does

@stardothosting sounds good. I'll hop onto development in a few days. I noticed that you mentioned wrapping this in a python script with multiprocessing and I can get started on that if you want.

Create logged in session then visit 1000s of 3rd party websites with the logged in facebook session to poison the browser history monitoring facebook does

Do you know "Make Internet Noise"? You could potentially leverage this service in a casper session using the Facebook cookie.
