paste via keyboard unreliable

Sometimes paste via keyboard pastes the previous data instead of the current data in the paste buffer and a 2nd paste is required to fix it This has given me no end of headaches when testing code with me shouting why doesn't this bloody code work but then to find out that it just pasted my old broken code again lol
