[Linux] Alt key interferes with keyboard layout switching when not using themed menu bar
If the themed menu bar is disabled, the Alt key focuses the standard system menu bar, even if it's shown. Unlike other Electron apps with a menu bar, pressing Alt+Shift to change the keyboard layout interferes with it; thus the menu bar is focused every time I change the keyboard layout, stealing focus from the text area and making typing in different languages very inconvenient.
For now I've worked around this by using the themed menu bar, but since it's just a hamburger icon, it's very inconvenient because every top-level menu item becomes a submenu in this mode.
OS: Ubuntu 20.04, KDE
Hi @Maia-Everett, sorry to hear that. It could be related to the fact that the desktop app is using version 9.4 of Electron. We're looking into upgrading it to a newer version which will potentially help alleviate issues like these.
Until now. This makes the job more difficult
