Random logout, then data is duplicated when reconnecting
This has happened a couple times, in perhaps a year, where it will ask for my password to login to the desktop app, and still be logged out. When I login, it will re pull all my notes, making duplicates with latest changes...
Hi @raako71, I'm so sorry to hear that. Are you using any apps that clean your computer or remove cookies? Perhaps it's what signs you out of the desktop app, if so.
For what it's worth, the desktop app generates a backup on a daily basis (if it's open long enough). You can access this via the app's main menu / the menu bar > Backups > Open Backups Location. Import the backup into the web app while signed out to verify that everything that you recall installing, creating, and editing is there (it might help to sort the notes list by Date Modified and compare it with what's on the desktop app). Then you can delete your account and recreate it, or import the data into a new account under a different email address and then delete the old one.
Not running any 3rd party software. Either way, surely if I get logged out, then need to login again, then again, surely it will try a merge or something..??
It wouldn't merge the notes, but it wouldn't duplicate notes that are exactly what the server last synced either. It's possible that the session has terminated as some point before new edits are made to the notes, and then the app tells you to sign in again at some point later. I'm sorry to hear that it has happened repeatedly for you; I wish we could find a way to reliably reproduce this issue in order to get closer to finding a fix or provision for it.
thanks for the response, not sure I can provide much more..
