exp_mod_normal parameter lambda is inverse scale, not shape

Open andrewdolman opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

Summary:

In the current Stan Function Reference manual Version 2.28. For the Exponentially modified normal distribution, the parameter lambda is described as being the shape, I think it is actually the inverse scale, or rate parameter.

Description:

Describe the issue as clearly as possible.

Additional Information:

I tried to follow the contributing guidelines but could not find a "currently open next docs issue"

Current Version:

v2.18.0

@andrewdolman: thanks! We'll fix it.

We used to just have one docs issue and I'd personally just clean everything up before a release. Now it's way too big for that, so we just create issues for each issue.

If you let me know where you found that guideline, I can update it. I can't find it with Google search over our docs.

If you create a new issue there is a link to contributing guidelines which points to this: https://github.com/stan-dev/docs/blob/830169f1f63d18b82eda8befaf22b53bde975fe0/.github/CONTRIBUTING.md

Huh, I hadn't noticed that little auto-generated link on the side of the issue bar. We should probably just delete that file

Is this a pop-up when someone opens an issue? If so, we definitely want to just get rid of this advice and instead maybe just thank them for reporting an issue.
