Messages not getting delivered on android - (connectivity problem)
A bounty provider I chatted with is having difficulty talking to the bounty hunter. Here are the messages she sent me:
She is an android lite user and this is her profile: https://community.sphinx.chat/p/022eb13eb10e726ca46d9d4527e0da86f87403ba4febf94b7b28eb39f77ad1dd8e/organizations
I'm not sure what the potential bug might be. Maybe connectivity issues? But submitting this so we can track issues.
Okay I hopped on a call with her and was able to get some more screenshots. She is on version: 1.0.0-beta03. Galaxy S20.
As you can see below the phone is connected to WiFi so it's not a connectivity issue:
This is a picture of the failed message sent.
We tried several methods of troubleshooting:
- Turn the phone off and on
- Turn wifi off and on
- uninstall and reinstall app
Reinstalling the app worked. But I'm still wondering what might've caused the app to not connect.
If it takes up a lot of time to investigate, we can put a pause in this issue and I can follow up again if this issue happens again.
I've got another android user whose app also crashed. messages aren't going through either and he was unable to join tribe.
He was able to communicate with me because he switched to iPad.
@ecurrencyhodler Can we ask these users (and future ones) whether or not they had an additional client running like Mac, iOS or Windows. We seem to have an auth issue when users are running two.
This will help rule out that issue for these users
@tomsmith8 An additional client running at the same time? Or have the same account on multiple devices?
@ecurrencyhodler the same account signed in on multiple Apps (android, mac, iOS).
For example, if I signed in on my Android and then also signed in to the Desktop mac version with the same account can cause issues when sending messages.
If the user can confirm they only signed in via 1 account (android) that would be good to pinpoint down as it will confirm it's not the Auth issue above.
Understood thank you. Yeah they were only logged into one device and one account which is android.
