🐛 Describe the bug
I used a simple Japanese CV voicebank tutorial, and i was testing it out with some CV ustx’s, but for some reason the consonants just don’t get sung. I followed the tutorial very well, and i am just so confused. What am i missing?

As you can see, the lyrics here are “sa ku ra” (I think, I don’t know any Japanese)
But with my voicebank, it sounds like “a u a”

are you still there?
uh oh. i closed it.
ok its back. I need help, my voicebank won’t sing the consonants and i feel like the only one in the world with this problem.
From the voicebank you provided, it lacks an oto.ini file. Oto.ini is required to generate correct singing voice. It basically tells OpenUtau which part of a voice file should be used and where is starting position of a musical note. Which reclist do you use? the developer of the reclist provides a template oto.ini file. Copy it to the folder where your wavs are and edit it with vlabeler. https://github.com/sdercolin/vlabeler
oh. I thought i did. My previous voicebanks were oto’d and still had the same issue.
I used the wastelandutau tutorial reclist, if that helps.

this comment has been written just so it doesn’t get closed so people see this.
Base oto’s are useful, but when you don’t have one that works, here’s what you do.
1: Grab an oto from a different vb 2: Put it in YOUR vb 3: Wipe it clean 4: Open OpenUTAU 5: Open the Singers menu/options whatever 6: Mess around in the settings, your main goal is to have all recordings show up in the oto, and nothing else. 6.5: Press “Save oto’s” 7: Get vLabeler (if you haven’t already) 8: Edit the oto file in vLabeler 9: Put the vb with the oto file in the Singers folder of OpenUTAU (right click, “Open Singers Folder”) 10: Test, repeat steps 6 and 8 to get what you need 11: Enjoy!!
