My original blockstack ID is not showing up in blockstack browser after the addition of a second ID

I have 2 IDs one is tjrwells which is a free ID that I registered when I first created an account. I then paid for an ID an now that second paid ID is the only ID visible when I log into the blockstack browser.

This is the same issue reported to support that Ryan and I met to discuss.

@timstackblock I'm able to see all my IDs when I click "More" on the Profiles page. The URL that takes me to is http://localhost:8888/profiles/i/all, am guessing the equivalent should also work on the hosted browser.

Has anyone else been able to repro this?

@diwakergupta I am the user that reported this problem to Ryan. I paid for an ID (enriquegutierrez.id) when I first registered to blockstak and used it in some dapps to login normally. One day it disappeared and I could no longer login to any dapp, I created a free id (enriguti.id.blockstack) and that's the only one I see when I go to http://localhost:8888/profiles/i/all

@enriguti your username enriquegutierrez.id has expired. On-chain usernames expire after 2 years, you can renew it before it expires from the Blockstack browser. However in this case since it has already expired, you have to re-register the name.

@ynkl, that makes sense giving timing, but is quite unfortunate as I did not realize this. So basically I have to pay for it again?

@yknl Some observations that could be fowarded to the UX team. Trying to be constructive, UX design pays my bills :)

  • I had no clue usernames expired. Is this clearly informed when usernames are created?
  • It would have been nice to get a warning telling me my username was about to expire.
  • Even if I had received a warning I have no idea how to renew a username.
  • I tried registering again enriquegutierrez.id and I got a message telling me is already registered. Maybe a bug?
  • I logged into https://www.predictoapp.com/ using enriquegutierrez.id. I receive emails from them weekly but I can no longer login. I guess I wont be able to login again ever to cancel those emails :(
  • Same thing happens on https://bitcoin4photos.net. I logged in, uploaded a couple of photos and I guess now they are there forever without me being able to access them :/

I mean, no big deal, but if I had 1 bitcoin stored on Predicto and 100 photos on bitcoin4photos I would be quite mad about it. It looks to me like a serious issue/pain-point to address.
