[FEAT] An option to review any note with any tags

Open oliviercarizzoni opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I struggle to design my vault to allow a general reviewing mecanism, the walkaround i have found is to prefix every tag with a global tag, but that doesn't look appealing

Describe the solution you'd like When reviewing a note or a flashcards, and when activating the option, a new choice all appears to review every notes or every flashcards with whichever in tag in it

Hey there, I'm not sure I've understood the suggestion exactly.

Can you please add further explanation, and examples of what you would like to see.

BTW, not sure if this helps, but you can specify multiple tags (space separated) in the plug-in's settings.

Hi Ronny,

Thanks for answering, I would like a global revision in my vault, anything that is marked that comes in, I would like to review it.

The only way I have found is to use a global tag: '#x/business #x/health' etc on every note

But this is not aesthetic, and not so compatible with external app.

So perhaps anything that comes into a specific folder, or anything with simply a tag in it (providing the fact that we can still further filter notes with '-#unwantedTag') would be interesting to me.

But the simplest and fastest way that would please a lot of people would be a new choice 'all' that would appear along with the others tags to review every note. Because if you remember, when we review a note, it first asks which tag.

So an all option, which would take all tags marked in plugin option, would be very good.

Hope this was clearer on the intent,

Regards, Oliver

Hey Oliver

Have you tried the "convert folders..." option? Might be helpful...

Nope but that is for flashcards, the issue is with the notes. I need a global way to review them.

Sorry, I've been busy working on the flashcard code, so that's been on my mind.

So would a similar feature for notes be suitable? I.e. review all notes under a particular folder (or folders)?

Hi Ronny, thanks for your answer, review notes under specifics folders would be great ! Although i wonder how would it work, with or without tags ? A all option to take into account every tags listed in option would also be goood.

See you, and thx for your work here, Olivier

This wouldn't work for me. I don't use folders in Obsidian at all. I'm just using tags to structure my vault. So from my point of view there should be a tag filter, not a folder filter for the review queue.

An even better solution would be mimicking the behaviour of the built-in search box to select notes from the review queue. This would be an absolutely generic solution, giving the user absolute control over what exactly to review:

Hi Ronny, sorry i thought I answered you by the time, my bad ! Yes that would be a good solution as well to mimick the search feature. Thank you, have a wonderful end of year.
