We are also hitting this issue when downloading large video files (>25MB) on iOS. Even worse, wkwebview decides that the page is unresponsive, and reloads it, terminating our download task...

We tried the chunking method described above, but unfortunately wkwebview still eventually decides that the page is unresponsive. We experimented with chunk sizes from 512KB to 15MB.
