freeze when waiting for ssh connection but target machine doesn't exist

On Linux (seen in CentOS 6.5) host runs out of file descriptors (or similar resource) when in a loop trying but unable to connect to a target machine.

Not noticed in past because doesn't happen when all is good.

Possibly one ssh process for each attempt remains running, until reached limit.

What alleviates problem a little bit is, you can kill the script, and all those child processes will die too.

Nasty bug renders host machine quit useless. While there are too many of those processes, that regular user cannot log in.
