more precisely, it becomes ~2.3 times faster on my system, slightly outperforming some version of pypy3. tried to LD_PRELOAD jemalloc, but that doesn't have a noticeable effect. added an error...
added to examples. will optimize over time.
it sounds useful to use smart pointers here. note that we added -std=c++17 just now.

just to mention: if WSL is an option, shedskin should work just fine under it.
closure support would be great, especially for the common use case as the the 'key' argument to sort/sorted. I think we can start using c++17x by now, as folkert started...
