How run onvif server in windows

Hello and thank you for your inquiry. This is a subject I have been investigating and have struggled with. It is theoretically possible to run the onvif proxy server in windows but there are issues with the platform. In my testing, performance has been spotty, and there seems to be a limit to the number of clients that can connect (2). I know that in old days, microsoft would limit the incoming socket connections in the standard version of windows, forcing you to buy windows server if you wanted to run that configuration. I would assume that to still be the case, but I have not had opportunity to verify.
The latest version of the program is now able to host a large number of clients from a Windows server. The replacement of the RTSP proxy with the MediaMTX interface has allowed this to happen with vastly improved performance.
